「孝経」は「孝」という字は上が老人を表していてしたが子供を表している。子供は親や先祖を敬い大切にして孝行に勤め長を尊敬する。親は子供を愛し大切にしてまっすぐ素直に育て身をもって「教える」。教えることは自分自身がやって見せてやらせて見せる。そして褒めてやる。これが「教」ですね。
要するに親から子供に「つながる」ことであって、そして子供がまた子供につながっていくことが大切で、人間が生きていくことの最も大切な基本的なこと。だからその反対のことは当然断絶とか切れることであるわけで、そちらの方向に行くことは戦争はもとより一生活の中においても全てに言えることであって生まれてきたら必死で学び「教えられる」ものでなければならない。
