オリンピックの組織委員会長が橋本さんになったが、前途多難で心配してる。
大変な役を仰せつかってしまってかわいそう。
橋本さんのお父さんは橋本牧場種であって、ずいぶん前に中山競馬場がリニューアルされて馬主席がガラス張りになった時、
関西からルイジアナピットが中山メインに出走した。剛腕の郷原や柴田正人や的場がいたころで関西から一頭だしなもんで関東のベテラン騎手に阻まれて
４コーナーを回ったところで外に出せずそのまままゴールへ。結局五着だった。外へ出せれば勝てるところだったんですが２４歳で亡くなった新鋭の岡潤一郎だった。
ゴールした後すぐに橋本さんが来てくれて名古屋のピットのオーナーと話をしていたが、「まだまだ、岡も若いね！」って言っていたのが耳に残った。外へ出せなくて残念で仕方がなかったことに思いを込めて頂いた。
その時の橋本聖子さんのお父さんの顔を今でもふと思い出す。
